There are a number of different possible ways of quantifying corporate "size", including:

  • revenue
  • profits
  • number of customers
  • geographical reach
  • pay scale:
    • salary of highest-paid employee (typically the CEO)
    • average of top 1% salaries
    • median salary
    • highest salary divided by lowest salary

Working out a reasonable function to generate a single number from all the factors involved may take some experimentation, but does not seem like an especially difficult task.

It might also be reasonable to include some factors regarding the company's benefit or cost to society at large, if there's any objective way of quantifying that.
